Tutor Apprenticeships
2025 National Guideline Standards
The Tutor Apprenticeships 2025 National Guideline Standards have been officially submitted and are now under review. Developed collaboratively by the Partnership for Student Success, New Jersey Tutoring Corps, National Student Support Accelerator, and the Pathways Alliance, these standards aim to position high-impact tutoring as a quality, workforce-aligned career pathway.
All two-year competency-based apprenticeships require 4000 hours of on-the-job learning and a minimum of 288 hours of related instruction, and a progressive wage schedule, so I don't think it is important to include here. The guidelines outline a two-year, competency-based apprenticeship model including key tutor apprenticeship competencies related to professionalism, planning, relationship-building, and instruction. This marks an important milestone in expanding tutor apprenticeship programs nationwide.
